Harvesting Manager - East Yorkshire Salary: £40,000 per annum Contract: Full-time, Permanent Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays We are seeking an experienced Harvesting Manager to oversee mushroom harvesting operations in the East Yorkshire region. This role is ideal for someone with strong people management skills and experience within the mushroom or wider fresh produce sector. Key Responsibilities Manage daily mushroom harvesting operations to meet quality and quantity targets. Train, coach and mentor harvesting staff and supervisors to achieve performance goals. Create and manage manning plans, liaising with agencies where required. Assess crop yields daily and plan harvesting resources accordingly. Ensure highest product standards, including weights, sizing, stem length and presentation. Attend operational meetings to plan staff, yields and house allocations. Monitor and evaluate picker performance, ensuring targets are met. Maintain compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company standards. Drive continuous improvement and minimise waste across operations. Work collaboratively with senior management and other departments. Candidate Profile Essential: Previous mushroom picking experience. Strong communication, organisational and people management skills. Ability to manage teams in a fast-paced, target-driven environment. Good IT and numerical skills. Desirable: Previous supervisory or management experience in mushroom production. Advanced Food Hygiene qualification. Experience as a Harvesting Manager in the mushroom industry. Degree-level education. Working Hours 5 days over 7, with weekend and overtime work required during peak periods. Two 30-minute breaks per shift. Flexibility is essential to meet business needs.
