Collections Coordinator
Location: Dudley
Salary: £30,116 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, between 8.00am – 6.00pm
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Our client is seeking an experienced Collections Coordinator to join their busy Collections team. In this hands-on role, you’ll help care for and bring the collection to life by cataloguing objects, supporting exhibitions, and uncovering new stories along the way. Working with colleagues, volunteers and partners, you’ll play a key part in keeping the collections organised, accessible and engaging for all.
What will you be doing?
* Managing collections through cataloguing, auditing, and tracking movement.
* Developing object handling/storage practices and the Museum's collecting policy.
* Researching, acquiring, and installing items/collections in existing and new buildings.
* Contributing to the development of the Museum’s collections review project.
* Supporting disposals, returns, deliveries (including exhibition deliveries & installation), and loans.
* Conducting research for collection development, programmes, and engagement.
* Supervising volunteers, interns, placement students, and Collections Assistants.
* Overseeing research visitors/groups, collecting data relating to objects and users, and addressing enquiries respectfully.
* Assisting with the development and review of emergency planning procedures.

* Experience of implementing current standards and resources for collections, ideally from the Museum sector.
* Experience in supervising staff or volunteers.
* Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Proven experience in adapting to changing work requirements, and excellent prioritisation skills.
* A willingness to undertake manual handling of our collections.
