Junior Electrical Engineer
Location: Bristol (Hybrid working available)
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join a growing and forward-thinking building services consultancy based in Bristol. This is an ideal role for a graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop within a collaborative environment, working on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors.
The business specialises in delivering high-quality mechanical, electrical, and sustainability design solutions, with a strong focus on innovation, energy efficiency, and low-carbon design.
You’ll gain exposure to projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, supporting designs from concept through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of electrical building services systems (power, lighting, small power, containment)
Support senior engineers with project delivery across all RIBA stages
Produce calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
Contribute to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions (including low-carbon technologies)
Attend site visits, surveys, and client meetings
Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects, and wider design teams
Assist with reports including feasibility studies, condition surveys, and performance assessments
Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or similar
Basic understanding of electrical design within the built environment
Familiarity with UK regulations and standards (e.g. BS7671, Part L)
Some experience with design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Amtech - beneficial but not essential)
Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
A proactive and collaborative mindset
