We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer / Lead Engineer to manage a small team of two, at a site that has recently undergone multimillion-pound investments. Role Profile
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, as the Senior Engineer, you will supervise, coordinate, and execute all shift engineering maintenance activities, both planned and unplanned. Your goal is to minimize downtime while supporting production efficiencies in a fast-paced 24/7 FMCG environment.
Working Hours / Shifts
4 on, 4 off (alternating days and nights)
06:30 - 18:30 / 18:30 - 06:30
Overtime is available, paid at x1.5 and double time.
Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor a team of two multi-skilled engineers.
* Manage engineering resources to maximize plant and equipment availability.
* Develop a flexible and effective engineering shift team to meet current and future demands.
* Implement initiatives to reduce costs, improve OEE, and minimize waste.
* Collaborate with the FLM team to ensure high shift performance, safety, and quality standards.
* Ensure the engineering team maximizes machine uptime, adheres to planned maintenance, and complies with health, safety, and budget requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Seeking an experienced engineer with leadership and team management skills. Candidates should have a recognized engineering apprenticeship (Electrical or Multi-skilled) and be qualified to ONC or BTEC level (HNC is desirable). Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is preferred.
