The Role
The Assistant General Manager works with the General Manager, sharing responsibility for the day-to-day running of the business. The AGM deputizes in the absence of the GM and acts as a key liaison between the restaurant, kitchen, guests, associates, and Head Office. The AGM’s primary responsibility is to ensure every guest has a pleasurable experience by supporting the GM in leading and inspiring the team across all areas of operations.

Reports to: General Manager
Responsibilities
* Assist the GM with planning, forecasting and controls to maximize financial opportunities and ensure costs reflect business levels
* Support P&L targets, monitor expenditure and follow proper procedures for exceptional expenditure
* Assist with financial administration, cash control, banking reconciliation, discrepancies, and data reporting between venue and outsourced accounts
* Ensure stock control and budgets are adhered to; oversee purchasing procedures and monthly stock takes
* Support premises maintenance and cleanliness; monitor health and safety to comply with statutory, legal and company requirements
* Oversee equipment maintenance and timely reporting of issues, with follow-up on health and safety implications
* Administration: manage schedules, holidays, and deployment; ensure timely, accurate records
* Motivate and develop the team; recruit and induct staff; assess performance and provide development opportunities
* Uphold welfare, discipline, uniform, grooming and conduct standards; promote guest relations and service excellence
* Drive guest satisfaction, respond to feedback, and communicate with Head Office as needed
* Lead effective briefings to enable managers and associates to fulfil guest arrangements
* Assist with recruitment, training, and development; monitor performance and address issues promptly
* Support the GM in ensuring smooth operation and achievement of sales, profit, staffing and stock targets
Qualifications and Experience
* Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager in high-volume food & beverage
