Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Instrumentation and Control Engineer.

This is a contract opportunity, working out of our reading office on a hybrid basis, based on 4 days a week in the Reading office and one day a week working from home. The role will provide support on a number of FEED and EPC petrochemical, Oil & Gas and energy transition projects.

The Role

As the Principal Instrumentation and Control Engineer you will be responsible for the execution of project work, in accordance with the Discipline Design Instructions, including Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour, cost budgets and the project schedule targets.

Expected:

5. BSc Instrumentation / Control Systems / Electrical / Process Control Engineering or other relevant degree
6. Significant HAZOP & SIL experience
7. Extensive experience in instrument and control engineering in the oil, gas or petrochemical industry
8. To be technically astute and conversant with the lasted advances in technology
9. Ability to deliver documentation that is technical correct to the required standard and schedule
10. Understand and control Material Take Off
11. Experience in a similar role within the contractor environment is essential
12. Prior experience reviewing Engineering Flow Diagrams and Piping Layouts and Models with reference to assigned equipment

Desirable:

13. Middle East project experience is preferable (Gas Plants, Refineries etc)
14. MEng is preferable but not expected for the role
15. Charter Engineer is preferable but not expected for the role
