Electrical Project Manager – DNO / ICP

About the Role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager with a strong background in the DNO, IDNO, or ICP sector. This role is ideally suited to a Project Manager with proven experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects within the renewables and embedded generation environment.
Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will take full responsibility for managing projects from standards.design handover through construction, commissioning, and completion, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, safety, and quality
Key Responsibilities

Review project designs and confirm readiness for handover to construction teams
*
Ensure all electrical works comply with DNO G81, BS standards, client Engineering Requirements, and relevant regulations
*
Manage and deliver construction projects from design handover through to final commissioning
*
Develop, maintain, and manage the Programme of Works, providing weekly, monthly, and 3-month lookahead schedules
*
Identify and manage project risks and critical path activities to ensure programme delivery
*
Oversee site safety and security, ensuring compliance with CPP, F10, and HSEQ requirements
*
Support the HSEQ Manager in the preparation of RAMS, audits, and safety documentation
*
Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) checks, including pre-work inspections and post-completion sign-offs
*
Compile and manage test certificates, reports, and project handover documentation
*
Lead and chair technical meetings with internal teams, clients, and DNO representatives
Person Specification
*
Minimum qualification: HNC in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
*
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience within construction or electrical infrastructure projects
*
Proven experience working within a NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) environment
*
Strong background in the installation or management of electrical infrastructure projects up to 132kV
*
In-depth technical knowledge of switchgear, transformers, generators, and substations
*
Comprehensive understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements in construction
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
*
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under pressure
