Responsible to: Production ManagerThe CNC Lathe Cell Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the CNC turning cell, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. This role combines hands-on machining expertise with leadership, coordination and continuous improvement responsibilities.The post holder will be responsible for the following duties:Key ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for all engineering functions required to allow the efficient manufacture of component parts on CNC Lathe machinesTrain, mentor and upskill team members to build capability and flexibilityAdhere to company policies and quality standards, including AS9100Perform and oversee machine setups and first-off approvalOptimise machining processes for tolerance, surface finish, and cycle timeDiagnose faults and analyse programs and methods to maximise machine efficiency and/or reduce risk of non-conformanceEnsure compliance with engineering drawings and process specificationsLiaise with tooling suppliers to source, trial, and optimise cutting toolsSupport continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiativesCommunicate effectively across engineering, quality, and production teamsJob SpecificationEssential CriteriaMinimum HNC in an engineering discipline, such as mechanical or manufacturing engineering. Other engineering qualifications which at least meet the standard of an HNC will be considered.Minimum of 5 years experience in CNC turning, with strong capability in on and offline programming, setting, and process optimisation on Fanuc-based multi-axis CNC lathes and turn-mill machinesAdvanced PC literacy with ability to utilise manufacturing systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong ability to interpret complex engineering drawingsProven ability to plan, prioritise, and deliver against deadlines in a high-pressure manufacturing settingAdvanced problem-solving skillsDemonstrated leadership ability, with experience in training and motivating teams and driving performanceAbility to work collaboratively across teams while taking ownership and initiative in decision-makingDesirable CriteriaWorking knowledge of CAD/CAM systems (e.g. Mastercam)Broad 3 & 5 axis CNC machining experienceBenefits:Parking EOT CompanyWHJS1_NI
