Job Purpose:

Location: Various Locations in Aberdeen
Duration: Permanent, Part Time - 20 hours

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that, with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above, currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour).

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee's first full month's salary payment.

Job Purpose/About the Role

To work with young people engaged with Youth Participation programmes, supporting their personal and social development. This enables young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens, and effective contributors through their participation in youth work programmes.


Minimum Requirements:

The post holder must have experience of working with young people.


Desirable Skills:

* Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with young people
* Clear and effective communication with young people
* Creativity and initiative
* Ability to provide written reports to a high standard
* Empowering young people to take responsibility and make decisions
* Ability to work with people from different organisations and services
* Ensuring young people's health and safety
* IT skills for keeping records and presenting reports
