Alexander Lloyd are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to design, implement and maintain a robust control monitoring framework across pensions administration. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing assurance to senior leadership through effective oversight and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Control Monitoring & Manual Workarounds
* Design and maintain a comprehensive control monitoring framework covering all aspects of pensions administration, including manual processes and workarounds.
* Ensure controls required to support compliance with the General Code of Practice and other guidance from The Pensions Regulator are included within the monitoring framework.
* Support the organisation's Own Risk Assessment (ORA) and Effective System of Governance (ESOG) through documented control assurance work.
AAF 01/20 Internal Control Reporting
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of the annual AAF 01/20 report, including coordination with internal teams and external service auditors.
* Define, test, and evidence control objectives across pensions administration, IT, and other functions.
* Monitor and resolve issues arising from AAF testing, with a focus on repeat exceptions and high-priority findings.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk, and Compliance teams to align assurance activities and share insights.
* Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership through clear reporting and participation in relevant forums.
* Act as a subject matter expert on internal controls and assurance frameworks.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in control assurance, ideally within a pensions environment.
* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and established practices.
