About the Role & Grad2Teach Programme
This Graduate Trainee PE Teacher role is part of the Grad2Teach salaried initial teacher training programme—a financially supported, classroom-based route into teaching.
You will:
* Begin by delivering PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
* Progress through Grad2Teach’s structured two-phase training model
* Work toward a PGCE with QTS, awarded by Coventry University
* Receive a salary throughout your training—no tuition fees required
* Benefit from expert mentoring, tailored coaching, and a curriculum aligned with the Teaching Standards and Core Content Framework
Training StructurePhase 1:
* Support with planning and delivering practical and theoretical PE lessons
* Assist in extracurricular sports clubs, competitions, and student interventions
* Develop behaviour and classroom management strategies
Phase 2:
* Independently teach PE lessons (up to 18 hours per week)
* Continue to build subject expertise and pedagogical skills
* Complete PGCE assignments and formal assessments

Candidate Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
* Hold a bachelor’s degree—ideally in Sport Science, Physical Education, or a related subject

* Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to professional growth
* Hold (or be working towards) GCSEs in English and Maths (flexibility may be available in Phase 1)
