A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Physics to join a highly academic secondary school in Bristol from April. This is a full-time leadership position within a successful and well-resourced Science department. • Head of Physics required – full-time, permanent • Highly academic secondary school in Bristol • Teach Physics across KS3–KS5 • April start • TLR available for departmental leadership About the Role The school is seeking an inspiring and knowledgeable Head of Physics to lead Physics teaching across the school while delivering high-quality lessons at KS3, KS4 and KS5. You will play a key role in driving academic excellence in Physics, supporting colleagues within the Science department, and ensuring students develop a strong understanding of both theoretical and practical scientific principles. The successful candidate will lead curriculum planning, contribute to departmental strategy, and support the continued development of strong GCSE and A Level results in Physics. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a highly academic environment where students are motivated and enthusiastic about STEM subjects. Experience and Qualifications • Ability to teach Physics across KS3–KS5 • Degree in Physics or a closely related discipline • PGCE/QTS or equivalent recognised teaching qualification • Experience leading or contributing to departmental development • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Physics education • Legal right to work in the UK School Information This highly academic school in Bristol is known for its strong examination results, ambitious students, and supportive leadership team.
