Legal Assistant [Commercial Property]

£24,000 per annum
9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
I'm working with a well‑regarded law firm in Brighton who are looking for a friendly, organised Legal Assistant to join their Commercial Property team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys keeping a busy office running smoothly and wants to build their experience within a fast‑paced legal environment.
What you'll be doing
You'll play a key role in supporting the team day‑to‑day, including:
Opening new files, maintaining the client database and completing AML checks
Managing shared inboxes and speaking confidently with clients on the phone
Monitoring deadlines and keeping tasks on track
Handling client onboarding and risk assessments
Using the Land Registry portal to obtain documents and submit applications
Assisting with completions and arranging payments
Supporting with billing and invoicing
Digital audio typing and document production
Diary management and arranging meetings
Scanning, post handling and general office administration
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
Friendly, approachable and easy to work with
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable managing general admin and keeping systems tidy
Confident speaking to clients and third parties on the phone
Happy to take initiative, ask questions and learn on the job
Competent using Word, Excel and (ideally) case management systems
A good attitude and willingness to learn
