Chief Data Officer — Relocate to Prague
Systematic Trading / Quant Hedge Fund Background Required
A high performing trading firm is looking for a Chief Data Officer to lead its global data strategy as it scales. This is a senior role at the centre of the firm’s trading, research, and technology ecosystem with a mandate to turn data into a true competitive advantage.
The Opportunity
You will define how the firm acquires, structures, and distributes trading data across all desks and markets. This means setting the vision, building the roadmap, and ensuring that every strategy from back tests to live trading runs on clean, reliable, well-governed data. You’ll partner directly with senior leadership and shape the next generation of the firm’s data platform.
What You’ll Lead
* Firm-wide data strategy and long-term architecture
* Evaluation and management of market data vendors
* Establishing a unified, auditable source of truth for trading data
* Improving research speed by delivering ready-to-use datasets
* Setting standards for data quality, lineage, and governance
* Driving alignment between quants, engineering teams, and operations
What You Bring
* Experience in systematic trading or a quantitative hedge fund (non-negotiable)
* Strong technical grounding in data pipelines, warehouses, and cloud-native tooling
* Comfort working across trading, research, and engineering functions
* Ability to measure the commercial value of data and prioritise accordingly
* A strategic communicator who can champion a clear data vision
