Your new company Hays have been retained by one of Belfast's most established, multi award winning architectural practices in their search for a hybrid Graduate Architectural Technologist / Document Controller. They specialise in delivering large scale projects across the UK within the commercial, leisure and residential sectors. The reason for the creation of this position is simply influx of workload and organic growth, but it should appeal to Technologist who have gained placement / post-graduate experience with a smaller practice and want to 'learn the ropes' of an AT position at a major studio without being 'thrown in at the deep end'. Your new role This is a newly created position that will have the graduate Architectural Technologist / Document Controller work alongside their architectural design and BIM teams, providing coordination, documentation and technical administrative support. You'll ensure the timely, accurate and efficient registration of incoming and outgoing technical documents (including drawings, reports, specifications, schedules, RFIs and other submittals). At various time-points of a projects life-cycle you'll accurately file, distribute and track relevant files for review & comment, ensuring the preservation of revisions and retrieving documentation upon request by project teams, clients and external teams. You'll assist in the organisation and coordination of drawings / drawing packs in preparation for issuance at relevant times. Largely speaking you'll be an essential link in the QA checking process, highlighting inconsistencies to relevant teams. Similarly you will become the go-to person for all things relating to project extranet sites (CDEs) including uploading / updating best-practice for the various extranets & liaising with external document controllers to resolve any issues relating to CDEs. What you'll need to succeed You'll come from an Architectural Technology / Architecture background (with relevant degree), with 1-2 year's experience in a design / practice environment. You'll have exceptional attention to detail and strong technical knowledge, and the ambition to join a major NI practice in this unique position that should allow you learn the ropes and will act as a stepping stone towards a rounded AT position.
