Working hours:
1. Full-time – 8:30 – 4:30

The successful Principal Fire Engineer will be offered:
4. A basic salary between £100,000 – £120,000 (dependent on experience)

To be considered for the Principal Fire Engineer role:
10. Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council
11. Minimum 10 years post-graduate fire engineering experience
12. Accredited degree (BEng/MEng) in Fire Engineering or cognate discipline
13. Full professional membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE or above) or equivalent
14. Proven delivery of fire strategies for complex and higher-risk buildings
15. Experience working across multiple sites nationally, including regular travel across UK: Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Greater London, Bedfordshire…
16. UK Driving License
17. In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and Wider Engineering Codes.
18. Strong communication skills, written or verbal.
As a Principal Fire Engineer your role will involve:
19. Applying advanced fire engineering principles to complex buildings and fire scenarios
20. Ensure fire safety compliance through detailed understanding and application of UK Building Regulations, British Standards and relevant international codes.
21. Advise on escape routes, evacuation strategies, fire service access and structural fire resistance, while assisting clients in negotiations with fire authorities, building control, and other regulatory bodies.
22. Leading national fire engineering delivery across multiple projects
23. Managing, mentoring, and supporting surveyors and junior fire engineers
24. Taking responsibility for technical assurance and applying professional judgement
25. Communicating complex fire engineering concepts clearly to clients, regulators, and internal teams
26. Leading regulatory discussions with Building Control and Fire Authorities
27. Contributing to CPD, internal training, and professional development pathway
