Social Work Assistant position in Youth Intervention Service
Social Work Assistants in this team will support young people who are in conflict with the law between the ages of 13-26, requiring comprehensive assessment and tailored interventions.
The role includes supporting children and young adults who are care experienced and need help reducing risks related to offending behavior.
The responsibilities of the Social Work Assistant include:
1. Managing a small caseload as an allocated caseworker
2. Providing assistance to young people assigned to Social Workers or Senior Practitioners
3. Supporting children and young people in court, including those appearing from custody
4. Facilitating group-work activities and interventions
5. Providing outreach support to at-risk youth
The Role
Social Work Assistants will work creatively, using approaches such as one-to-one and group work, to support young people. They will be involved in risk assessment and management, helping young people access community support and empowering them to become active citizens.
You will contribute to supporting the implementation of the Promise in Fife and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
This role involves lone working and requires the ability to travel across Fife. Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary.

* Experience working with young people in conflict with the law or leaving care
* Knowledge of child and adult protection processes
* Skills in IT and audio-visual technology, with enthusiasm to develop these skills
* Organizational skills, workload management, and decision-making abilities

* Teamwork skills
* Ability to travel throughout Fife
