Strengthening family help is a key part of the programme, and as part of this we are creating a new Domestic Abuse Prevention Team comprising a Senior Independent Domestic Violence Adviser with 5 Prevention Officers each aligned to one of Oldham s 5 districts. The team will offer advice and support to standard and medium risk victims of domestic abuse, deliver group-based courses for survivors and support other professionals such as GPs and family help lead practitioners to play their part in responding to concerns of domestic abuse. Key Responsibilities: Deliver victim focussed and trauma informed domestic abuse prevention support to victims of domestic abuse and their children, with the aim of preventing repeat victimisation and supporting recovery; Deliver high-quality bespoke interventions for standard / medium risk victims of domestic abuse in the community, including provision of advice, support and group-based training; Provide advice, guidance and training to professionals across the partnership on supporting victims of domestic abuse, including completing risk assessments and safety planning; and To be part of the multi-agency team in one of Oldham s districts, working together to meet the needs of children and families in the district in support of the Families First Partnership Programme. Key Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum: Experience of working within the domestic violence arena; Substantial experience of providing direct support, advice and guidance to individuals in order to achieve positive outcomes; Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and their children, as well as professionals from a range of backgrounds; Knowledge and understanding of Domestic abuse legislation, guidelines and policies.
