Main duties of the job
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for a specified group of patients as delegated by senior nursing staff, involving patients and carers where appropriate.
Acts as a team leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by unqualified staff and learner nurses in the ward team.
1. Deliver a high standard of nursing care independently, based on evidence-based practice.
2. Undertake and document comprehensive, systematic, and accurate nursing assessments of patients' physical, social, and spiritual needs.
3. Promote health and well-being opportunities for patients under your care.
4. Manage a group of patients during a shift as delegated by the nurse in charge.
5. Work within N.M.C Guidelines and Trust Policies, recognizing your abilities and limitations.
6. In the absence of senior colleagues, manage the Ward/Department when competent to do so.
7. Utilize computerized systems to support patient care and treatment.
8. Operate within Clinical Governance Standards and Trust Policies.
9. Address concerns and complaints from patients, visitors, or colleagues, and report as necessary.
10. Be familiar with all Trust Emergency Procedures.
11. Comply with Trust Manual Handling Policy.

Salary: £29,970 to £36,483 per year, dependent on experience.
