Chemical Engineer
Responsible for researching, designing, and developing new production processes and supporting the implementation of novel production processes to ensure they are robust, cost‑effective, and meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
* Plan, design, and execute lab experiments and pilot trials, including safety paperwork (COSHH, SOP).
* Process, analyze, and interpret trial data to draw conclusions for further development.
* Write technical reports summarizing lab/pilot data to facilitate scale‑up and commissioning.
* Assist with process scale‑up from laboratory to production.
* Develop and ensure accuracy of detailed calculations, process engineering datasheets, and drawings.
* Contribute to process engineering designs, including process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, equipment specifications, P&ID development, pressure relief calculations, and process safety reviews.
* Assist in creating technical specifications and requirements for process equipment.
* Participate in process hazard assessments and technical risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA, Hazardous Area Classification).
* Ensure safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards are maintained, following Company Health & Safety Policy and Environmental Policy.
Skills
* Experience handling hazardous chemicals in safe conditions.
* Experience in chemical process design through the entire project lifecycle.
* Experience with concept, basic, and detailed design of a chemical plant.
* Experience in process hazard assessments and other technical risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA, Hazardous Area Classification).
* Self‑motivated with good planning and organizational skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
