You will be helping the Practice Development team to develop high standards of practice & performance as well as to develop a comprehensive education programme for our Neighbourhood Nursing team in the heart of London.
We are looking for a staff member to provide support to our Integrated Local Services Practice Development team with a focus on supporting clinical skills competency.
You will be involved with supporting clinical staff and teaching. You will also be involved with education & training to all relevant personnel within the Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate to ensure high standards of care and excellent patient experience.

Main duties of the job
You will support the Education Lead and Practice Development Team to implement the education, training and development strategy for district nursing, community matrons, plus other community services staff.
We deliver exciting new educational initiatives to support newly qualified nurses and associated staff new to community nursing and responsibilities include the further development, growth and support of new recruits and existing staff including acute nursing staff on rotation from Guys and St Thomas' to meet the exciting new ways of working in Guy's & St Thomas's Community nursing services.
You will be working primarily with Neighbourhood Nursing teams and across all nursing services within ILS as part of a team of practice development nurses.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Education/ QualificationsNMC Level one Registered Nurse Adult.
2. Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic Development.
Desirable criteria
3. Specialist Practice Teacher.
4. Specialist professional knowledge of mentorship, education and development practice. ENB 998 or equivalent teaching qualification.
5. Post registration qualification relevant to Service Specialist practitioner District Nursing.
Previous experience
Essential criteria
6. Post registration experience within community setting.
7. Delivery of training sessions / programmes.
8. Experience of supervising/ assessing nurses and students in practice.
9. Experience of involvement in educational initiatives
10. Experience of working with Internationally Educated Nurses.
Skills/Knowledge / Ability
Essential criteria
11. Knowledge of educational standards and practice.
12. Understanding of the principles of teaching and learning.
13. Evidence of excellent clinical skills.
14. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
15. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal & communication skills.
