GEOGRAPHICAL LEAD INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL NURSE
An opportunity has arisen for a full-time, permanent Geographical Lead Infection Prevention & Control Nurse within NHS Lothian. This role will support NHS Lothian’s acute and community hospitals and care homes within the region.
Providing clinical expertise and working within a multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will play a key role in delivering an infection prevention & control service aimed at supporting patient safety by reducing healthcare-associated infections.
The post holder will provide line management for Infection Control Nurses within the RHCYP team, in accordance with relevant employment policies, and may need to deputise for the Lead Nurse.
Applicants should be first-level Registered Nurses with a postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention & Control. Significant infection control experience and evidence of knowledge in this field are required.
This position requires PVG Scheme membership/record. If not currently a PVG member for the relevant regulatory group, an application must be made to Disclosure Scotland and approved before starting.
