Role Description A modern, tech-driven accountancy firm in Crawley is looking for a confident and capable Semi Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key position with real autonomy, flexibility, and room to grow. The role would be split between 70% bookkeeping/VAT returns and 30% accounts and tax compliance. Key responsibilities: Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients (sole traders, partnerships, limited companies) Process purchase and sales invoices using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and Hubdoc Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan balances weekly and monthly Submit VAT returns (Standard, Flat Rate, Cash Accounting), ensuring MTD compliance Handle monthly & quarterly PAYE/CIS reconciliations Prepare accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset registers Liaise with clients to chase missing information and ensure timely bookkeeping Assist with year-end preparation and liaise with external accountants Support the wider team on accounts preparation and tax preparation. Lead MTD ITSA readiness from April 2026 What’s on offer: Full time position 34 hours a week.
