Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks)
Leading civils and groundworks company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to work on a variety of projects across the UK, including earthworks, excavation, drainage, 278 works, and groundworks.
Based in Stratford with projects in Oxford, Bristol, Swindon and the Midlands.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail‑oriented, commercially aware, and skilled at delivering cost‑effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
* Manage project costs and track financial performance throughout project lifecycles
* Conduct tender analysis and prepare tender documentation
* Assess subcontractor quotations and manage procurement processes
* Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and variations
* Liaise with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure accurate cost control
* Provide commercial advice and reporting to the senior team
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms and industry standards
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (minimum 2+ years preferred)
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts
* Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills
* Proficiency with cost management and estimating software
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
