We are looking for a Test Engineer to join an R&D team and play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of innovative products. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for problem-solving in a lab and product development environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute product and process testing, including test rig setup, sample preparation, and data recording.
* Support laboratory operations, including equipment maintenance, calibration checks, and ensuring safe working practices.
* Assist with quality control processes and ensure testing aligns with industry standards (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL, EMC, LVD).
* Collect, analyse, and report test data, highlighting anomalies and supporting root cause analysis.
* Collaborate with engineers and technicians to validate product performance and drive improvements.
* Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in test methods, lab efficiency, and product quality.
Skills & Competencies
* Familiarity with mechanical/electrical testing techniques, lab equipment, and quality assurance principles.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in test execution and data handling.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret results and identify trends.
* Effective communication skills for reporting and cross-team collaboration.
* Organisational ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain clear documentation.
Education & Experience
* HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field desirable.
* Experience in a test lab or quality assurance environment preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Familiarity with CAD tools & PDM systems (SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Siemens Teamcenter, ARAS) is a plus.
* Understanding of relevant standards and directives (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL) beneficial.
