Salford City Council’s Children's Residential Service is expanding, and we’re excited to invite a passionate Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join our new home. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a meaningful and impactful initiative. We are creating more homes within our community to support and nurture Salford’s children, and you can play a key role in this effort!
What Will You Do?
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will help establish the tone in a new home, providing leadership and stability. Your experience and therapeutic knowledge will be essential in creating a nurturing environment that feels like a true home for our young residents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Guidance: Mentor and support a team of residential childcare workers, promoting best practices and a therapeutic approach to daily interactions.
* Therapeutic Care: Implement strategies to promote emotional and psychological well-being, tailoring care to each child's individual needs.
* Community Building: Foster a safe, welcoming home environment where every child can thrive.
* Collaboration: Work with other professionals to ensure comprehensive, holistic care supporting all aspects of a child's development.
Who We're Looking For:
We seek someone with solid experience in residential childcare, particularly in managing the complexities of a children’s home. A passion for therapeutic approaches in caring for young people is essential. Holding a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is highly desirable.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with the cost of £49.50 deducted from your salary over the first four months (£12.38/month). If employment does not commence, an invoice will be issued for the DBS cost.
