SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Location: Stoke-on-Trent Start Date: 1st June 2026 Duration: Until Summer Holidays (July 2026) Contract Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Stoke-on-Trent from 1st June. This is a full-time position running until the end of the academic year, with the potential to be extended into September and the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate. You will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all pupils can thrive. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored and differentiated learning activities Support pupils with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment Support with personal care where required (if applicable) Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based experience desirable) A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to different needs and learning styles A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs What’s on Offer Full-time, consistent work until the summer holidays Opportunity for extension into September 2026 Potential for a permanent position Supportive and welcoming school environment Valuable experience within a specialist SEN setting All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
