Hotel Painter
As our Hotel Painter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the
hotel's interiors and exteriors are kept in excellent decorative condition. You
will carry out painting, decorating, and basic surface preparation duties,
ensuring all works are completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to
guests at Edinburgh’s most prestigious properties – The Edinburgh Grand and Old
Town Chambers – now operating under Marriott International’s luxury and premium
brands.

What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting into the Chief Engineering Officer, you will be responsible
for preserving the elegance and visual appeal of both properties, ensuring that
every space reflects the quality and prestige of our brands.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out painting and decorating in guest rooms, public
areas, and service spaces
* Prepare surfaces (sanding, filling, priming) to a high
standard
* Apply paint, stain, wallpaper, and other finishes as
required
* Conduct regular touch-ups and planned redecoration work
* Ensure minimal disruption to guests during maintenance tasks
* Follow all health & safety and COSHH regulations
* Coordinate with the maintenance team on ongoing projects
About You
* Proven experience in painting and decorating
* Excellent attention to detail with a high standard of finish
* Confident working with a variety of materials (e.g. paint,
stain, wallpaper)
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively
across two sites
* Professional, discreet, and guest-focused in all
interactions
* Knowledge of health & safety and COSHH regulations
* Flexible and reliable, with a proactive approach to
maintenance tasks
* NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent
qualification) would be desirable
* Experience working in hotels, hospitality, or heritage
properties would be desirable
