Test TechnicianLocation: High WycombeSalary: £27,000 – £32,000Job Type: Full-time, PermanentA well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in High Wycombe is looking to recruit a Test Technician to join its quality and production team.This role focuses on the mechanical and electrical testing of precision electromechanical products, ensuring they meet strict quality and performance standards before release to customers.The RoleAs a Test Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, measuring and testing components, sub-assemblies and finished products throughout the manufacturing process. You will play a key role in ensuring product reliability by carrying out both mechanical and electrical testing using a variety of precision measurement tools and test equipment.The role is primarily based at the company's High Wycombe facility, with occasional support required for customer or supplier-related activities if needed.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out mechanical and electrical inspection and testing of components, sub-assemblies and finished productsPerform electrical testing including insulation, electrical noise and voltage drop measurementsIdentify visual defects such as nicks, burrs, pits and scratches during inspection activitiesFollow defined inspection standards and ensure accurate documentation of resultsProduce test and inspection reports for internal teams and customersSupport investigations into product issues, customer returns or quarantined partsAssist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actionsMaintain records and support departmental KPIs related to testing and quality performanceFollow company health, safety and environmental policiesSupport risk assessments within testing and manufacturing processesMaintain high standards of organisation and housekeeping in line with 5S principlesWhat We're Looking ForExperience in mechanical and electrical testing within a manufacturing or engineering environmentStrong understanding of metrology and precision measurement techniquesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and CAD documentationExperience using precision measurement tools and electrical test equipmentGood computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel and WordStrong communication, organisation and time management skillsAbility to prioritise work effectively to meet production requirementsDesirable ExperienceKnowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systemsExperience with problem-solving methodologies such as A3 or 8DUnderstanding of Lean manufacturing principles such as 5S or visual managementWhy Apply?Salary £27,000 – £32,000 depending on experienceTechnically interesting role working on precision electromechanical productsOpportunity to work closely with quality and manufacturing teamsStable, permanent position within a well-established engineering environmentTo ApplyFor more information or to apply, please contact:Lewis Phillips01582 369359TPBN1_UKTJ
