About the Role
An established and growing manufacturer of high-precision scientific instrumentation is seeking a Production Technician to join its production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a clean, controlled manufacturing environment, contributing to the build of advanced equipment used across research, industry, and academia.
The Position
As a Production Technician, you will support the assembly and preparation of components used in complex instrumentation. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to quality.
You will be responsible for carrying out production tasks efficiently and safely while maintaining high standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning and preparing components prior to assembly
2. Building wiring looms and mechanical sub-assemblies to specification
3. Following standard operating procedures and engineering instructions
4. Completing tasks accurately and within agreed timescales
5. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace
6. Using tools and equipment correctly, reporting any issues as needed
7. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
8. Collaborating with team members to meet production targets
Skills and Experience
Essential:
9. Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
10. Ability to follow written and technical instructions
11. Good manual dexterity
12. Effective time management skills
13. Commitment to health, safety, and organisation in the workplace
Desirable:
14. Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or assembly
15. Knowledge of electrical wiring or mechanical assembly
16. Experience working in a clean or controlled environment
17. Understanding of quality standards and procedures
