Temporary School Caretaker
Full Time Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Temporary – approximately 4 weeks
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
We are seeking a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to support a school in Newcastle on a full-time temporary basis for approximately 4 weeks.
The Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well maintained throughout the school day.
Duties will include:
1. Opening and locking up the school premises
2. Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks
3. Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times
4. Managing site security and responding to alarms
5. Setting up rooms for school activities and events
6. General caretaking and grounds maintenance duties
Essential Requirements:
7. Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service – essential for this assignment
8. Previous experience working as a caretaker, ideally within a school environment
9. Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
10. Good practical and DIY skills
11. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
