Overview
We are seeking to recruit two experienced and motivated Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioners with significant post qualifying experience to join our dynamic team in the Torbay Liaison Psychiatry Service. We welcome applicants who may consider a part time or full time contract and actively support Flexible Working Arrangements within the service. Liaison Psychiatry is the branch of psychiatry that specialises in the interface between medicine and psychiatry in a general hospital setting.

Responsibilities
* Provide senior mental health practitioner support, including assessment and consultation within a busy Liaison Psychiatry service operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
* Make specialist mental health assessments and devise interventions to support recovery, working within a multidisciplinary team and with multiple agencies.
* Develop individual recovery plans, communicate effectively with patients, families and carers, and manage risk as part of a collaborative care approach.
* Contribute to the acute care pathway, ensuring timely specialist mental health assessment for patients presenting to the District General Hospital (DGH).
* Engage in education and supervision, supporting junior staff and enhancing clinical skills within a stimulating learning environment.
* Participate in professional governance, audit and development of mental health services.
* Provide specialist advice to referrers and multidisciplinary staff regarding patient care and safeguarding as appropriate.
Qualifications and Experience
* Essential: A professional mental health qualification (e.g., RMN, CQSW/ASW, BSc/Diploma in OT) and current registration with a professional body (e.g., NMC).
* Essential: Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment; and assessment experience (mental health & risk).
* Desirable: Postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialty; clinical supervision qualification; mentorship qualification; experience in community mental health or primary care settings; involvement in user involvement in services.
