About the apprenticeship
Duties
Supporting Learning & Development
Work under the direction of the class teacher to assist in lesson delivery and learning activities.
Prepare and organise learning materials before and after lessons.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs (ALN).
Assist with literacy, numeracy and communication skill development.
Support pupils in following Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans under teacher guidance.
Classroom and Pupil Support
Help maintain a safe, tidy and engaging learning environment.
Support in managing pupil behaviour following school policies.
Assist pupils during transitions between lessons and activities.
Supervision and Extra-Curricular Support
Supervise and engage with pupils during break times, lunch and outdoor activities.
Accompany staff and pupils on educational visits and school trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.
Promote positive social interactions and support pupils’ emotional and social development.
Professional Development and Training
Fully engage with the Apprenticeship programme, attending training and completing assignments.
Learn from experienced staff and develop best practices in teaching support.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of school policies, including safeguarding, equality and confidentiality.
Work towards achieving a Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.

GCSE Grade A-C A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their learning and development.
