We are seeking an experienced Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Engineer to support the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing operation of condition monitoring systems across a large marine fleet. The role has a strong focus on vibration analysis, asset reliability, and failure prevention, working closely with shipboard engineering teams and shore‑based technical specialists to optimise maintenance strategies and reduce unplanned downtime.
This is a permanent position and would require you to travel onboard the ship when needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, upgrade, and support CBM systems onboard vessels, with a primary focus on vibration analysis technologies
* Provide shipboard and remote technical support for CBM systems, including calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs
* Conduct vibration data analysis (spot checks and long‑term trending) and review third‑party condition monitoring reports for accuracy and quality
* Deliver training and coaching to shipboard engineering teams, promoting CBM best practice and data‑driven maintenance
* Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and contribute to RCM and FMEA activities
* Support continuous improvement of asset maintenance strategies using condition and performance data
* Project manage CBM installations and upgrades, including contractor supervision where required
* Work collaboratively with shipboard engineers, third‑party CBM providers, and internal technical teams
Essential Experience & Skills
* Experience maintaining rotating equipment and implementing CBM strategies
* Strong practical experience with predictive technologies, including vibration analysis and oil analysis
* Experience using CBM data collection and analysis software (e.g. Emerson CSI, Mimic, or equivalent)
* Proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery issues using advanced vibration analysis techniques
* Experience training and engaging with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams in operational environments
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
* Comfortable working offshore, flexibly, and across different time zones
