Description
To ensure that examinations are conducted according to the regulations to:
* Ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities
* Ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination
* Prevent possible candidate malpractice
* Prevent possible administrative failures
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks:
* To be fully familiar with Awarding Organisations and College regulations for the conduct of examinations under supervision.
* Arrive at the appropriate site and collect examination packs from the Examinations Office at an agreed time before the examination.
* Check that the contents of the examination pack correspond with the examination requirements.
* Ensure the security of question papers and student data before, during and after the examinations.
* Check that the examination room is set out in accordance with College and Awarding Organisation regulations.
* Brief students on examination regulations at the start of examinations.
* To invigilate for the duration of the examination, maintaining examination conditions and staying vigilant throughout.
* To ensure examinations start and complete on time, taking account of students with access arrangements.
* Accurate completion of seating plans, registers and other paperwork and to check completed scripts carefully against the register.
* Escort students on toilet breaks ensuring no unauthorised material is consulted and that exam regulations are observed at all times.
* Return scripts, unused stationery and other items to the Examinations Office.
* If necessary to act as a scribe or reader for students with examination access arrangements.
* Report all incidents including occurrences of malpractice to the Examinations Office.
* Undertake regular Invigilation specialist training and support training delivery to other centre staff.
* To undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be expected to fall within the grading of the post.
