Are you passionate about making Science exciting and accessible? GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to transition to a permanent contract with the school.
Your Role:
You’ll deliver inspiring Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping learners develop curiosity, practical skills, and confidence in the subject. Working in an SEMH setting means creating engaging lessons, building positive relationships, and supporting each student’s individual journey.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Plan and deliver creative and differentiated Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
✔ Use hands-on activities and experiments to spark interest and understanding
✔ Support students in overcoming barriers to learning
✔ Work closely with SEN and pastoral teams to provide a nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
✅ Strong subject knowledge in Science (KS3 & KS4)
✅ Experience working in SEMH or willingness to adapt
✅ Excellent behaviour management and a positive, patient approach
