Front-End Engineer
Help shape the future of clean, affordable energy.
We're on a mission to democratise energy—making electricity cleaner, smarter, and more affordable for everyone. We're looking for a Front-End Engineer who's excited about building intuitive, performant, and visually engaging web applications that bring complex energy systems to life.
You'll take ownership of our core user-facing products, including our Portal application—the primary interface for configuring, visualising, and interacting with microgrids. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you'll transform complex systems into seamless, user-friendly experiences that help drive decarbonisation of the electricity grid.
If you're motivated by impact and want to apply your engineering skills to something that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you—even if you don't tick every single box.
What You'll Do
* Build and evolve our front-end applications, turning business needs and user feedback into slick, usable interfaces.
* Collaborate with engineers, designers, and domain experts to simplify complex systems into elegant experiences.
* Own the delivery of project-specific UI requirements, aligning development with milestones and reporting progress clearly.
* Ensure smooth integration of the UI with backend services and APIs.
* Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and inconsistencies to keep our applications reliable.
* Stay ahead of emerging front-end technologies, championing improvements to our stack and workflows.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* 3+ years of experience building complex web applications.
* Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3.
* Solid understanding of responsive, mobile-first design.
* Sharp eye for detail and passion for delivering polished user experiences.
Nice to Have:
* Full-stack experience (Python, Postgres, APIs).
* Exposure to AI/ML, especially for time-series forecasting or optimisation.
* Background in startups or fast-paced environments.
* Experience with BFF (backend-for-frontend) design and RESTful APIs (FastAPI).
* Familiarity with Webpack, Vite, Git, Docker, and modern build pipelines.
* Ability to design intuitive UIs without needing constant UX input.
* A collaborative mindset and eagerness to shape a positive team culture.
Why Join Us?
* Be part of a team driven by a mission with global impact: accelerating the shift to affordable, clean energy.
* Work in a supportive environment where autonomy and collaboration go hand in hand.
* Take ownership of products that customers rely on every day.
If you're excited about using your skills to make energy better for everyone, we'd love to hear from you.
