Based at our Head Office in Whyteleafe, just 15 minutes outside of Croydon and easily commutable from London.

We work in a competitive hybrid working model, with 2 core days at head office and 3 days working from home, plus flexi core hours.

We’re on the hunt for an ambitious and dedicated Assistant Buyer to join our incredible Toy buying team. This is a phenomenally successful category, which contributes to 30% of our sales mix at Ann Summers so you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping significant product lines and be making a substantial commercial impact. You’ll be an exceptional communicator who can juggle multiple priorities, but most importantly you will be passionate about the Ann Summer’s brand and company mission!

A bit about the role

* Build strong and beneficial relationships with suppliers, creating an effective and balanced supply base.
* Work with key suppliers to obtain costings, negotiate creatively to maximise margin, understand key supplier strengths and weaknesses.
* Contribute to the development and review of the critical path ensuring the BAA keeps it up to date and issues are highlighted.
* Work to build the range with the team to deliver products that meet the target customer and are profitable.
* Be customer focused, evaluate customer lifestyle and choices and be aware of current trends, whilst delivering a strong and engaging customer experience, taking feedback and seeking to improve.
* Show commercial awareness, react to the competition, and identify further opportunities for the department or brand.
* Keep pace with industry and competitor developments and contribute and develop your knowledge.
* Be an ambassador for the business and champion our Ann Summers brand values at all times.
* Lead and role model our brand and people values in my team and across the business.


We’re looking for someone who

* Has previous experience as an Assistant Buyer or Account Manager, ideally working with hard goods, beauty or gifts such as electrical or homeware products.
* Is an amazing relationship builder, establishing productive internal and external relationships.
* Has great attention to detail, is organised, customer centric and brand focused.
* Is able to coach and mentor junior team members.
* Is an affinity with our brand and is an authentic ambassador of our people values.
