This is an exciting opportunity to join the Specialist Palliative Care team and enhance your skills and expertise within the field.
The role involves delivering high-quality palliative care to patients within the community setting, with potential rotation into the acute hospital setting across North Cambridgeshire.
You will need knowledge of symptom control for patients with end-of-life malignant or non-malignant care needs and be able to assess the holistic palliative care needs of patients and their families.
The job includes education and training of other health professionals regarding end-of-life and specialist palliative care across North West Anglia NHS Trust and the local community.
Supporting a seven-day specialist palliative care service, the successful candidates will need to work weekends and bank holidays on a pro-rata basis.
This role offers an opportunity to develop specialist palliative care knowledge and experience across hospital and community settings in the region.
This position is community-based initially, requiring travel between patients. Candidates must hold a current car or motorcycle license and have access to a vehicle.
The responsibilities include delivering holistic palliative care interventions, demonstrating nurse leadership, providing education, engaging in service improvement, and developing skills through delegated plans of care.

As a professional, you will act in the best interests of patients, providing complex, evidence-based, person-centered, safe, and compassionate care, planned and delegated by the Specialist MDT.
You will use your knowledge and clinical judgment to undertake complex assessments, act within your scope of practice, and develop, deliver, and evaluate education and training.
Effective communication in challenging environments, encouraging innovative clinical practice, managing unpredictable situations, and participating in resource management and service development are key aspects of this role.
You will also be involved in staff and learner development, ensuring competence and fostering a culture of excellence.
