Wellbeing is central to all that we do in School as we recognise that happy contented children (and staff) thrive. The successful candidate will be based mainly at the Senior School but may be asked, at times, to support the wellbeing provision at the Prep School.
The successful applicant will be a qualified counsellor holding a diploma (level 4 as a minimum) and be BACP accredited. The role will be varied; the successful candidate will be expected to work directly with children on a 1-2-1 basis as well as developing and coordinating group session, offering support and supervision to the rest of the Wellbeing team, and conducting parent consultations.
The Wellbeing Manager will work in collaboration with the Health Centre team and the Pastoral Leaders’ Team. The Wellbeing Manager will also support the wellbeing of staff across the School by providing guidance and initiatives.
The successful candidate will have previous management experience as well as experience in working with young people from 5 to 18 years, with a variety of emotional difficulties. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well within a team as well as independently. A flexible approach to workload is essential, as well as being adaptable to change. The ability to write accurate reports and use a range of communication techniques skilfully is also essential.
A knowledge of safeguarding and child protection is essential to this role. Candidates must also hold a full UK driver’s license and be prepared to work across both school sites.
Salary by negotiation and dependent on skills, attributes and qualifications of the successful candidate. Flexible working requests will be considered.
The successful candidate must be available from the start of January in order to facilitate a seamless handover ensuring a smooth transition for our pupils supported by the Wellbeing Team.
