East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has an opportunity for a motivated and suitably qualified individual to lead and manage the Services Health and Safety function, a key part of the Services Risk Reduction Directorate. The successful candidate will contribute to the Service fulfilling its statutory duties as well as helping to keep our staff and our communities safer. As the manager of the Health and Safety team you will be a key part of the Services Risk Reduction team and as such you will contribute to identifying and reducing risk both within and beyond the traditional areas of health and safety. You will oversee and manage all aspects of our health and safety management system and will report directly to the Assistant Director of Risk Reduction. You will work closely with other Health & Safety Managers within the region and nationally. In addition you will work closely with Representative Bodies to ensure legal compliance. You will attend relevant meetings to provide data and input on both performance and risk. In addition, you will be required to produce and present appropriate reports to ensure corporate oversight and compliance. You will need a full UK Drivers License- use of a car provided. A standard DBS check is a requirement of the role and this will be funded by ESFRS for the successful applicant.
