You'll be one of the first senior hires in their new UK engineering base, working alongside top-tier engineers across the UK, US, and Europe to develop the next generation of their backend systems. The Role We're seeking an experienced Python/Django Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems. You'll take ownership of features end-to-end, contribute to architectural decisions, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready software. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions. * Build and maintain RESTful APIs using best practices and TDD. * Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, QA, and DevOps to deliver robust features. * Participate in architectural discussions and influence key technical decisions. * Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing long-term fixes. * Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and ensure strong observability practices. * Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. * Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to solve complex challenges. Essential Criteria * 5 years developing customer-facing web/software applications. * Strong Python and Django experience. * Proven ability to build and maintain RESTful APIs using TDD. * Solid understanding of version control (Git) and Agile/Scrum methodologies. * Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). * Strong communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams. Bonus Points For * Experience with Postgres and CentOS. * Background in requirement gathering and customer-facing technical sessions. * Experience with OS package upgrades. * Familiarity with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). * Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana). * Contributions to open-source projects or technical communities. * Startup or high-growth environment experience.
