About the Venue

Since its opening, Utilita Arena Newcastle quickly established itself as a superb venue and major Northeast landmark, alongside the Tyne Bridge, Angel of the North, and Hadrian's Wall. With capacity to host 11,000+ guests, we have welcomed millions of visitors to concerts, exhibitions, conferences, and world class sporting events.


About the Role

We are looking for a Food & Beverage Assistant to be an integral member of our F&B Operations Team.

This is an integral role for us, you will be driving force in your team ensuring we are fully prepared for all our exciting events: processing deliveries, rotating, and replenishing stock around our bars, lounges and suites and supporting the wider team with adhering to all Health and Safety/Food Safety procedures.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven individual who is looking for an opportunity to grow their career with an exciting business. Alongside your operational duties, you will be the first point of call for all things people related: recruitment and training, approving timesheets and liaising with our payroll team to ensure people get paid on time and any other ad-hoc duties relating to our casual workforce.

Your Responsibilities

As well as the key operational duties listed above you will:

* Support with schedules on Human Force, offering shifts out to staff, approving timesheets and pay runs ready to be sent to payroll.
* Support with individual pay queries relating to hours worked and liaise with the payroll department where required.
* Support with the signing in of staff on event days and helping to allocate staff to their designated locations according to the resource plan.
* Support in the development of training content, training plans and all other activity included in our F&B Training Strategy.
* Support with all F&B Recruitment Activity
* Working with the Retail and Hospitality Executives, you will co-ordinate and implement training plans for all Casual staff on events and classroom-based training.
* Support with inductions of new starters.
* Support the F&B team with all administrative activity across the venue.

Key Skills and Experience

* Experience of working in a similar role and business - Essential
* Experience of working in an events-based environment, ideally within a similar multi-purpose space with a mixed programme.
* Knowledge of the local and regional entertainment offers and venues.
* Experience of successfully working to strict time deadlines with the ability to effectively prioritise a range of tasks.
* Understanding of electrical safety related to live events.
* The ability to effectively manage own and others time.

Key Skills and Experience

* Strong Hospitality Operations Experience - Essential
* Previous administration experience gained from a fast-paced, high-volume business - Essential.
