Summary of the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join our growing Transactional Team within the Finance Department. The role will primarily focus on managing the purchase ledger function, ensuring supplier invoices are processed efficiently, reconciliations are completed accurately, and suppliers are paid on time.
The successful candidate will be confident working with large data sets, ERP systems (NetSuite), and Excel spreadsheets, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger & Payments
* Process and input supplier invoices into the ERP system (NetSuite).
* Match invoices to purchase orders and goods receipts, resolving discrepancies.
* Run the weekly supplier payment run, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
* Maintain supplier account records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
Supplier Management
* Respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally.
* Reconcile supplier statements, resolving outstanding issues.
* Support good supplier relationships by ensuring accuracy and timely communication.
Data & Reporting
* Work with large data sets in Excel, using formulas to analyse and reconcile data.
* Assist with transactional reporting requirements within the team.
* Support the self-billing invoicing process.
Month-End & Compliance Support
* Assist with month-end tasks, including accruals and reconciliations.
* Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
* Contribute to process improvements within the transactional finance function.
Other Transactional Duties
* Support processing of employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations.
* Assist with direct debit payments and ad hoc transactional tasks as required.
Skills and Attributes Required
Technical & Finance Skills
* Previous experience in Finance Assistant, Accounts Payable, or Purchase Ledger roles.
* AAT qualified or qualified by experience (QBE).
* Strong Excel skills, including formulas and handling of large data sets.
* Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience desirable).
* Solid understanding of purchase ledger processes, reconciliations, and payment cycles.
