About The Role
A Senior Quantity Surveyor is an experienced QS who has a track record in managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility on building and civil engineering projects. They seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
What you’ll be doing
* Has a good knowledge of and adheres to the Company’s governance requirements and maximises LEAN/digital opportunities.
* Orders information and systematically checks data.
* Maximises digital opportunities.
* Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents.
* Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties.
* Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location, assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes.
* Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately.
* Analyses the commercial progress and reports to senior project staff.
* Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation.
* Understanding of the Customer Contract and undertakes customer and stakeholder management.
* Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and/or compensation events as required.
* Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required.
* Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders.
* Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes.
* Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy.
* Supports the recruitment, supervision and development of team members.
Qualifications
* Strong Commercial Management experience.
* Ideally possess experience working within the Heavy Plant Industry.
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge.
* MRCIS/MCInstCES/MCIOB with CPD maintained or working towards them.
* CSCS Card (Professional Qualified Person).
