Brabner Fox is partnering with a successful and growing insurance broker looking for an exceptionally hard working, resilient, client-first operator to become their Head of Broking.

A growth driven, senior leadership role owning the efficient placement of commercial insurance risks, the maintenance of insurer relationships, and the delivery of high-quality technical and advisory support to client-facing teams.
This role is on-site in company offices in North London.
Key Responsibilities and involvements
Strategic Leadership
* Define and execute the broking strategy in alignment with the company’s growth objectives
* Contribute to the overall business strategy as a member of the senior leadership team
* Lead broking innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
Team Management
* Lead, mentor, and develop the broking teams to ensure high performance, collaboration, and professional development
* Ensure appropriate technical training, guidance, and performance management
* Foster a culture of excellence, compliance, and accountability
Market and Insurer Relations
* Maintain and strengthen key relationships with insurers and underwriters
* Negotiate favourable terms, coverage, and pricing for client placement
* Ensure that market knowledge is current and shared across the business
Technical Oversight
* Provide expert support for complex or high-value placements, including program design and structuring
* Ensure that broking documentation and placement files meet regulatory and company standards
* Drive consistency and quality across all broking outputs
Governance and Compliance
* Ensure broking practices meet FCA regulations and internal compliance requirements
* Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management and governance frameworks
* Oversee accurate and timely MI reporting and audits related to broking activity
Commercial Contribution
* Collaborate with client directors and account executives to support new business and renewal strategies
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform placement strategy and client proposition
* Deliver cost-effective broking solutions that enhance client value and broker margin
Key Skills, Experience and Attitudes:
* 10 years’ experience in commercial insurance
* Strong background in UK and international commercial insurance markets
* Proven leadership and management experience within a broking or placement function
* CII qualifications (DipCII or ACII) preferred
* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
* Technically proficient across a broad range of commercial lines
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
* Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
