Join BTHFT as a Specialist Midwife for Bereavement.
The post holder will have overall responsibility for the provision of care for women and families who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal or sudden infant death.
They will work closely with line mangers and the multidisciplinary team within the Maternity, Gynaecology and Neonatal services to ensure high standards of bereavement care is being delivered using contemporary evidenced based practice and guidance.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of new ways of working, continuously auditing the service. The post holder will line manage the Continuity of Care team that is at the implementation stage which will include participating in and promoting the quality and personalisation agenda for the bereavement service. This will include data and statistics for local and national reports on a regular basis.
To liaise with other professional groups and service users to accelerate quality, safety and health for women and families in the local community.
The post holder will strive to empower and enable midwives and maternity staff to advocate for women by developing bereavement champions in key clinical areas.To manage and lead a multidisciplinary service, providing safe, effective compassionate care by establishing continuity of care for women requiring bereavement care in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
The post holder will act as a positive role model and will provide sound professional advice, be a credible visible leader and participate in clinical practice to monitor and transform and the bereavement service.
