West Berkshire Council is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance and Property Service, reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial management and business partnering of our Council's services, working alongside a team of dedicated professionals.
Responsibilities
* Delivering accurate and timely financial information, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Collaborating with service managers to understand their financial requirements and provide appropriate business partnering.
* Contributing to the overall financial planning and analysis processes within the Council.
* Assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
* Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
* In addition to the above, you will also have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc projects and provide financial analysis to support decision-making at a strategic level.
Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with a solid understanding of financial management principles.
* Experience in a similar finance business partner role.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Good knowledge of financial systems and software, with advanced Excel skills.
