National IMS Systems and Compliance Manager Location: Chipping Sodbury (Hybrid) Package: Competitive Salary Bonus Company Car Join Heidelberg Materials UK and lead the way in compliance and systems excellence. We're looking for a strategic and detail-driven professional to take ownership of our Integrated Management System (IMS) and external certifications. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our operational integrity and sustainability commitments. Purpose of the Role As National IMS Systems and Compliance Manager, you will: Lead and maintain certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 45003, ISO 50001, BES 6001, PAS 2080, and other schemes vital to our competitive edge. Manage the IMS, driving continuous improvement, supporting development, and ensuring robust system maintenance. Oversee a dedicated internal audit team (2 FTE), providing leadership and direction. Coordinate external providers and internal systems to ensure statutory H&S compliance across inspections and monitoring-covering pressure systems, lifting equipment, structural integrity, wiring, and contractor certification. Collaborate with our Business Intelligence team to ensure performance data is captured, analysed, and reported effectively across the business and to key stakeholders. What We're Looking For You'll bring a strong background in compliance, systems management, and certification frameworks, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence. Experience in managing audits, external providers, and data reporting systems is essential. Lead on development and maintenance of software systems used for the IMS, ensuring they are fit for purpose in association with software manufacturers and liaise with Group/IT over the testing and installation of new versions. This includes AID (Intelex), SharePoint/Teams, Checkproof and replacement software, internal intranet and bespoke systems, based on access databases and excel spreadsheets. In relation to the IMS, manage effective document control, adding and deleting documents and communicating changes to users and administering the access rights of personnel around the business. Manage the timely development of the business line triannual management reviews, liaising with the SHE Business Partners, Technical Dept. and other key stake holders. Manage the internal IMS Audit team and process across Heidelberg Materials UK to verify implementation of the IMS in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, 45003 and ISO 50001 requirements. Manage the procedure review process to provide procedures with current and relevant information in a consistent format. Liaise with our external ISO accreditation body to maintain our externally verified SHEQ ISO certification. Manage the Achilles audit process to ensure we remain certified in this scheme. Liaise with Bi Team to maintain, develop and report on systems to manage/communicate SHEQ data and sustainability data requirements. Liaise with the 5S teams to allow a coordinated approach to development of the IMS and other systems that may run parallel to ensure there are no conflicts or pose a threat to legal compliance and external certification schemes. Oversee and contribute to the preparation and implementation of internal monthly/quarterly reports on performance from the management systems and associated databases to deadlines. To include analysis and presentation of data using spreadsheets which are clear and easy to understand. Coordinate the development of company Objectives, Targets and Key Performance indicators (KPI's). Support the identification and communication of good and best practice across the business Support key stakeholders in leading on their respective IMS specialisms including sustainability, carbon, energy, and water efficiency. Lead on the contractor prequalification process to ensure the contractors we utilise can demonstrate the appropriate level of Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management and performance. Manage external providers providing H&S statutory inspections to ensure their standards are in line with our requirements and expectations. Liaise with operational personnel to ensure the inspection schemes run as expected and resulting actions are communicated and addressed. Oversee our contractor pre-qualification schemes to monitor their use and implementation of our required minimum standards for contractors. Carry out all other duties as may reasonably be required by the managers. Education/Qualification Certified auditor (desired but must be obtained within 1 year of taking role) NEBOSH/ISEP Certificate or equivalent (desired but must be obtained within 1 year of taking role) Degree in Business Information Management Systems or equivalent (desired) NEBOSH/ISEP Diploma or equivalent (desired) IOSH/ISEP membership (desired) At Heidelberg Materials, we don't just offer jobs-we build careers.
