Phonics Intervention Teaching Assistant
Full Time | £100 per day | Immediate Start or After Easter
A Doncaster primary school is looking for an experienced Phonics Intervention Teaching Assistant to deliver high-quality, structured sessions to pupils across EYFS and KS1. The ideal candidate will have strong phonics knowledge and confidence working with learners of varying abilities to ensure rapid and sustained progress.
Key Requirements
* Significant experience delivering phonics interventions
* Strong working knowledge of Little Wandle and/or ELS (Essential Letters and Sounds)
* Ability to deliver consistent, well-paced sessions with fidelity to the chosen scheme
* Experience supporting learners at different stages of early reading development
* Skilled in identifying gaps and adapting lesson delivery
* Confident communicating progress with teachers and the Phonics/English Lead
* Positive, patient and encouraging approach
Role Responsibilities
* Delivering small-group and 1:1 phonics session using Little Wandle or ELS
* Supporting skills such as blending, segmenting, decoding and tricky words
* Monitoring progress and providing clear feedback to staff
* Preparing resources and delivering short, structured daily interventions
* Promoting confidence, participation and a love of early reading
